The RCPSC has a multi-year plan to transition all specialties to Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) with their Competency By Design (CBD) model.
If you are a RCPSC trainee, you may have questions about what CBME is, and how it may impact your training. If you are a CFPC trainee training in the Triple C model, you already have experience in a CBME training program. However, you may be wondering how your RCPSC colleagues’ training will differ from your own and may want to share your experiences with them.
While the RCPSC, the Universities, and the Programs are still developing many of the details of the transition, we thought it would be useful to create a broad overview of how the RCPSC’s CBD model will be rolled out.
